Buy It Now on eBay is a feature on eBay's auction pages that allows a
bidder to purchase a product for a set price at or above the minimum bid
price. It is an optional feature, available to sellers for a small fee.
If a person decides to purchase an item with a Buy It Now price, they must
be willing to pay that price, and in return the auction ends immediately with
them as winner. There are certain times when the Buy It Now feature is
not permitted or is rendered moot. Among other instances, if a person has
multiple items to offer via a Dutch auction, the feature may not be used,
and if a bidder offers less than the Buy It Now price , the bidding and
auction run as normal, and the Buy It Now option disappears.
eBay is currently trialing new rules for the Buy It Now feature on some
catagories. For example, leaving the Buy It Now option for the seller until
the bidding price reaches 50% of the BIN price. Imagine for a moment that
three months ago you took your entire life savings and opened up your very
